Last night I had difficulty sleeping thanks to the mad woman who lives in the flat above me. Every time I try to sleep she is pacing, actually more like stomping across the room. Since I couldn’t sleep I picked up the Harper’s Bazaar that was on the table next to the bed and read it until I was able to fall asleep. This issue showed the homes of designers John Rocha in the South of France and Donna Karen on Parrot Cay. I guess seeing those beautiful homes and all the clothing that I can’t afford in the magazine led me to have this dream…
I won the lottery, $658 million to be exact and the first thing I did was take Neal and my family to the Caribbean and we island hopped for one month and only stayed at the most luxurious villas.
Then Neal and I returned to London and the first thing I did without telling him was buy the apartment I have been eyeing for two years. After the big purchase and vacation I realized I only spent $3 million out of $658 million…I knew what I had to do and it involved going to Harrods!
After shopping day after day, my cloest looked like the co-op floor of Barneys.
Eventually we moved back to the US and lived in a house that resembled Ralph Lauren’s home in Jamaica. So, I guess we moved somewhere warm, not to New York like I always thought I would.
I don’t think this dream means much. I think we can all conclude that I like to shop and go on vacation. They say that dreams do come true though!
This is a picture of Ralph and Ricky Lauren’s home in Jamaica.
I was in a small grocery store the other day and I found these pints of icecream from Rocombe Organics. The inspiration for their creative packaging came from British taste and style. You can go to their website http://www.rocombe.com/ to see all their different flavors and outfits!
Duffy is officially my new favorite singer (so far) this year. You may have heard her number 1 hit single called Mercy on the radio maybe once, twice, or three times per hour. Simply stated, the girl has talent! Her voice in a way reminds me of Amy Winehouse and by no means am I comparing Duffy to Amy, but they both have such unique and beautiful voices. I don’t think she has made her mark in the USA just yet, but I highly recommend that all you non-Brits download her song if not her entire album from itunes.
Take a look at her website and myspace pages for more information about the 23 year old Welsh singer.
This is an email Neal sent me this morning, it’s hilarious!
Can ALL men please print and keep in your wallet for reference!!!
9 WORDS WOMEN USE
(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in ” fine ” .
(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That’s Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you’re welcome (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says “Thanks a lot” - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say “you’re welcome” … that will bring on a “whatever”).
(8) Whatever: Is a women’s way of saying “F*** YOU” !
(9) Don’t worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking “What’s wrong?” For the woman’s response refer to # 3.
This is news to me: Bravo launched a New York City version of their reality show Real Housewives (of Orange County) on March 4th. Living across the pond really does seclude you, all these new shows in the States and I am missing them. Did anyone watch the premiere episode? If so, how was it? The women look like they need a little bit of help in the fashion department…

Duff Goldman, or Chef Duff, is the creator and owner of Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, Maryland. You probably have heard of him or would recognize his face from one of my favorite shows ‘Ace of Cakes’ on the Food Network. Chef Duff and a hand full of his friends (artists, musicians, architects, graphic designers etc..) create these masterpieces. They design road sign cakes, ski slope cakes, and cakes to look like something out of Alice and Wonderland! You really should look at these on their website, you won’t believe your eyes. They are so amazing that if I was given one, I would almost feel guilty eating it ….almost

Part of the Plaza Hotel in NYC has recently been converted into luxury apartments with nearly 100 out of 181 units sold already. This New York Timesarticle interviews a woman who is a full time resident in the building, but she has yet to meet any of her neighbors. About half of the people who own apartments in the building actually live there full time and the rest use it on weekends or as a second home. I don’t know about you, but if my neighbors weren’t around half the time I was in my $5.8 million home I would be jumping for joy, not feeling lonely.
Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope everyone does something very special for their loved one today, and for you singletons out there, don’t worry… the day will be over before you know it.
As for me, I was told to stay home and not leave the flat today to wait for a package. So now it is nearly 1pm and nothing has arrived, but I guess I will keep waiting impatiently.
