I saw something on sat TV just this week about cupcakes - evidently they are the new muffin - and the passion across the US and UK for 'coffee and cupcake' is growing. Of course, this programme, from a South African sat channel, could have been aeons old and the whole fashion could now be on the wane.... But I also noted that one of the most 'in' places to purchase said items was in Primrose Hill. Some of the cupcakes designs I have seen are amazing - so much more stylish than the ones I used to throw together for my kids when they were young on high days and holidays - with a blob of white icing and a sprinkle of hundreds and thousands (if they were lucky). I have seen Nigella making (and scoffing) them too - so it must be true!
